"Maria Soledade Malvar, nascida em Famalicão, a 1909, e falecida em 2008, foi uma personalidade famalicense, com critérios bem demarcados, na cultura famalicense.

Antiquária de profissão, recebe, em 2002, a medalha de Benemerência, pelo enorme trabalho, em prol da Arte e da Cultura, em solo famalicense.

No mesmo ano, a sua casa foi transformada na "Casa Museu Soledade Malvar", um espaço onde artistas podem expôr, ao lado dum já vasto e belo espólio particular, os seus trabalhos, podendo, de um forma gratuita e organizada, iniciar um caminho sólido, nas mais diversas formas de Arte.

Hoje, foi a minha vez, e por isso, agradeço, não só a todo o staff da Casa Museu, como, em título póstumo, a esta formidável mulher, que me permitiu dar um passo tão importante, e partilhar, convosco, caros visitantes, uma parte da minha alma."

An antique dealer by profession, in 2002 she received the Charitable Medal for her enormous work in favor of Art and Culture, on her hometown.

In the same year, his house was transformed into the "Casa Museu Soledade Malvar", a space where artists can exhibit, alongside an already vast and beautiful self-owned collection, their work, and they can, in a well-defined and free of charge fashion,, begin a solid course, in the most diverse forms of Art.

Today, it was my turn, and for that, I thank, not only the entire staff of Casa Museu Soledade Malvar, but also, posthumously, this formidable woman, who allowed me to take such an important step, and share, with you, dear visitors, a part of my soul."
